APOLLO BUNDER CIRCA MID 1900: The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel (as it was called when it opened in 1903. In 1927, the Gateway of India was built on Apollo Bunder Pier (where the Navy Band entertained Colaba residents in the evenings occasionally.
