"The engraving depicts the 'Times' correspondent looking on at the sacking of the Kaiser Bagh, after the capture of Lucknow on March 15, 1858. "'Is this string of little white stones (pearls) worth anything, Gentlemen?' asks the plunderer." From 'The History of the Indian Mutiny' by Charles Ball (London: London Printing and Publishing Co. The Red Fort was of course looted too , and parts of it were heavily damaged as well (Illustrated London News, 1858): very large scans of *the upper picture* and *the lower picture*
