Head-and-shoulders carte-de-visite portrait of Cursetjee Furdomjee (1812-1896), from the Album of cartes de visite portraits of Indian rulers and notables, taken by Bourne and Shepherd in the early 1870s. Cursetjee Furdomjee Parekh was a wealthy merchant who went to China in 1835. He became a partner of the well known firm of Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy Sons and Company in 1841. He also traded with Europe and China. He was the owner of several ships and was a trustee of the Parsi Punchayat. He built the celebrated Flora Fountain in the heart of the Bombay.
