MUMBAI: If the the Brihanamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is to be believed then the long queues and the procedure to obtain a birth and death certificate will be shortened.
The BMC is planning to make getting birth and death certificates easier.
They are planning to make the procedure to get these certificates online with the digitised signature and stamp of a civic health officer.
The proposal to provide digitised birth or death certificates to citizens online was approved in the civic general body meeting on Monday. Once implemented, citizens will not have to wait for long to avail these documents.
The proposal to provide computerised copy of birth or death certificates having the digitised signature and stamp of respected health officers was tabled by Samajwadi Party corporator Rais Shaikh.
