Humans of Bombay

From The Founder

In 2014, when Karishma Mehta started Humans of Bombay as a simple Facebook page, the intention was simple: to tell stories, to connect strangers with the emotion of, ‘You’re not alone.’ But there were eye rolls, gasps, and multiple comments like,‘Get a real job!’

But the 21-year-old girl with a camera in her hand and ears eager to listen to stories, believed in herself, and has now built a community of over 3.2 million people. What began as 1 story, is now 6000 stories and counting, and that 21-year-old girl straight out of college became a Founder & CEO and “just a facebook page” became a storytelling powerhouse.

Having learnt how to build a business ‘on the job’, Karishma has seamlessly played the roles of entrepreneur, CEO aka Chief Everything Officer, and transitioned into the role of the face of our podcasts—taking our stories to the next level!

She’s living it, breathing it, loving it, one story at a time… :)

Celebrating the human spirit through real-life narratives and portraits.
