The Hornby Vellard is now known as Lala Lajpatrai Marg (or Lala Lajpat Rai Road).
This historic causeway, originally constructed between 1782 and 1784 to block the Worli creek and unify Bombay's seven islands, has been renamed in honor of the Indian independence leader Lala Lajpat Rai. It stretches from the Mahalaxmi area to Breach Candy in Worli, forming a key part of Mumbai's coastal infrastructur
